Google has updated their toolbar PageRank

Google has updated their toolbar PageRank in the last 24 hours.  The update came as a bit of a surprise as the last update came at the end of July, just 2 months ago. Lately they have been going 3-4 months between updates.

I am currently in the process of updating PR on our list of 11,000 directories.  The process will take about 5 days as I can only update about 1300 at a time. I will provide more stats when the update is complete.

Free directories that accept deep links

I have just made some updates to our list of free directories that accept deep links. These are general directories that accept internal links and sub-domains.

A big thanks goes out to our directory submission service crew. This list was compiled from the directories that we submit to as part of our deep link directory submission service.

I am currently going through all the directories on the list to ensure that it is current and useful.

New Microsoft commercial with Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld

Many parts of the world have not seen the new Microsoft commercial.  It’s a minute and a half and it’s about nothing (of course).

See the microsoft commercial.

Seinfeld reportedly received $10 million for a short series of ads.  If you haven’t seen the ad yet you may not get to see it (except on youtube).  It seems Microsoft has pulled the plug on the Seinfeld commercial series.  The main reason: the ads aren’t  really that good or funny, not to mention that they certainly don’t make you want to run out and buy Microsoft products.

Google Chrome Browser has Security Vulnerabilities

After a couple of days, security experts and hackers have identified a bunch of security holes in Google Chrome.  The browser is also a memory hog according to a report by PC World.   Not a big deal really, since the software is only in beta mode. I would not be in any rush to use it, especially if you are well setup with your current browser.  Once the bugs are worked out and third party addons come on board it should be a very useful product.

Google surprises everyone with a brand new browser

Google just released an open source web browser (in beta).  According to Google it’s a “browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier”.  They built it from the ground up.  It it  built for handling web applications rather than web pages.

The amazing thing is that development was kept secret.  You can download it for free and get more information at http://www.google.com/chrome/
