I have just spent a couple of days researching niche education directories.  There are over a hundred listings.  Most of them are PR4 - PR8.  Please visit our education directory list.

This list is not the same as most of our lists.  Many of these sites would  considered authorities in their field.  It may be quite difficult to get listed on some of them.  Many do not accept or seek listings .   If you have a high quality educational resource site  then it would be worth the extra effort to try to get listed on these sites. You may have to email them with a friendly suggestion.  Good luck.

Here is a new list of directory submission services. The list outlines the most popular manual submission services along with the sites that rank highest in Google for the term “directory submissions service”. The table provides useful information like the the types of packages offered and their price ranges, and how long they have been in the directory submission business.

Not all submission services are created equal. These are some of the better, most trustworthy one around. Directory submission can be an easy and inexpensive SEO tool but you are putting a bit of trust in the company you choose. You always want to stay in Google’s good books. Personally, I would stay away from the ones that will submit your site to over 500 directories. I know that there are not that many good free directories out there that are still approving free submissions.

I have just completed major additions to the Travel, Legal and Real Estate directory lists. Many of the dead link have been removed and hundreds of new directories have been added. I have added free, paid and reciprocal comments to most of the new listings.

If you have used the list before and are only interested in the new listings then sore the list by Hits. The newer listings will be displayed at the end.

PageRank: A small percentage of the directories were set to N/A, although they have higher PR. I am updating PR on about 2400 directories per day so all sites should be correct in the next 4 days.

We have just completed a major addition to our list of press release directories.   The list now has about 130 listings of press release directories and press release distribution sites. I have also added a new United States press release category.   

It appears that press release directories have a very high proportion of high PR sites.  There are quite a few PR5 to PR8 sites.  I will have to try to figure out why? Comments are appreciated.

We have recently added a brand new list for webmasters and web designers. See our new list of CSS galleries / directories for 40 listings of sites that list CSS. The vast majority of the directories are completely free.

Here are the two reasons I don’t recommend starting an article directory.

1. There are way too many already. I have 850 article directories listed on this site. Some of the niche article directories look useful but the there are way too many general ones to make a new article directory profitable.

2. The rate of abandonment is very high. While doing research for our list of article directories, I went through a bunch of article directory lists. Although many of these were less than a year old, I found an incredible rate of parked sites, dead sites or sites that were no longer directories. I am talking about hundreds and hundreds of dead directories. I also have to remove a large portion of my own listings every couple of weeks.

I don’t consider myself an expert in article directories as I have never owned one. Current owners would know better. My analysis is that there are too many and that the business model is not profitable. My advice for anyone wanting to start a new one is to try something else.

We have just implemented a new Real Estate Directory Submission Service on our sister site best-web-directories.com. It is based on our list of real estate directories which now has close to 250 listings.

The free real estate directories are definitely in the minority, although we have managed to find about 45 free ones. The actual number of directories that we can submit to will vary depending on your type of site and your region. Many of the sites are American. We will round out the service by submitting to general directories.

We have just done some work on our real estate directory list. We have added 100 new real estate directories and added some new regional categories for North America (Canada & USA) and Europe.

I have been working pretty hard at reaching the 10,000 directory mark and we are really, really close. I have put a real push on in the last couple of days. As a result of finding some good article directories, the article directory list has doubled to more than 600 listings. Listings include both general and niche directories. I also cleaned up many of the parked / dead sites.
