On April 28th, I ran a job to check the link validity of our list of 12,000 directories (see our home page). I was surprised at the number of directories that were not live because “Bandwidth Limit Exceeded”. Why? We are only talking about a couple of dozen, but it is still higher than usual.
I know from experience that there is sometimes a fair reason for exceeding bandwidth. Sometimes it is a once in a blue moon situation that does not warrant the purchase of extra bandwidth. Are directories getting that much traffic? I don’t think so?
I would be interested in any ideas that you may have.
